Diaper rash is an inflammation / irritation of the skin in the groin area, which is caused by the use of diapers / nappies in infants. Originator / causes of diaper rash include:
Tips to Prevent and to Treat Diaper Rash :
- Conditions moist diaper area.
- Skin contact with urine or feces containing urea, enzymes and bacteria.
- The beginning of the introduction of solid foods to infants.
- Baby's sensitive skin.
- Diapers and clothes that are too tight skin brushing.
- The use of antibiotics.
Tips to Prevent and to Treat Diaper Rash :
- Change diapers / nappies more often or at least 2-3 hours when the healing process. Avoid mixing urine with feces.
- After the diaper is removed, wipe the baby's skin with a cotton swab soaked with water. Then dry with a soft towel and leave it a few minutes so that the skin can "breathe".
- For skin that has been exposed to diaper rash avoid using wet wipes because in it contains substances that can irritate baby's skin.
- Apply a special cream to prevent diaper rash or to treat mild diaper rash. Do not use talcum powder because it will clog the baby's urinary tract.
- Avoid wearing rubber or plastic pants after wearing a diaper because it makes it difficult for the skin to "breathe" and evaporate.
- If the baby wears cloth diapers, wash with mild soap specifically for babies. Do not use bleach or other regular detergent.
- Find if there are any foods that cause infant feces contain irritants. In some babies are sensitive, food can make diarrhea or causes feces containing the irritant.
- There are children who can only use cloth diapers or diaper particular brand, look for brands that are best suited for your child.
- Make it a habit every morning to let the child without a diaper or pants for a few minutes on board with tummy. Let the sun-exposed skin so moist and can not "breathe" well.
- Diaper rash usually goes away for 3 days to do the tips above. If after 3 days there is no change or your child's skin becomes flaky or there are other warning signals such as fever, not eating, diarrhea, excessive vomiting immediately contact the nearest pediatrician for further treatment.
